WEBVTT

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.320
<v Wren>Another monthly ESPHome release, but 2026.9.0 can break your setup.

00:00:05.480 --> 00:00:15.050
<v Ash>It adds new components and widens Modbus, LVGL, OTA, audio, networking and Zigbee support. And there are breaking changes.

00:00:15.210 --> 00:00:22.530
<v Wren>Monthly isn't news, though. What's new here is the list: Modbus, LVGL, OTA, audio, networking and Zigbee.

00:00:22.690 --> 00:00:35.035
<v Ash>Yeah, 2026.8.0 brought the LD6002B radar and a Modbus overhaul, and 2026.5.0 brought native Zigbee end device support.

00:00:35.195 --> 00:00:44.015
<v Wren>And the Zigbee docs only landed a week ago, so that's still fresh. Modbus, networking, OTA: read the breaking-change notes before you update.

00:00:44.175 --> 00:00:46.720
